ANGELS ON PARADE

These are my new angel make do's that have just flown
in for the holidays.    They are so excited to be part
of all the festivities.  I can hear the constant chatter
going on about the believe of the Christmas spirit.
What better way than angels to remind everyone
about the true reason for the holidays.  Sometimes
when we are going through the holidays we get so
stressed with the parties and the shopping that we
forget truely what Christmas is all about.  These angels
remind us to believe in the true Christmas spirit.
These angles  are made from 100% cotton quilted
fabric and have muslin for wings that are lined with
gold or silver glitter. Their  faces are painted on and
they have beads for eyes. They stand about 8 inches tall.  Their hair is made from  white wavy yarn.  The star
is stuffed and stitched with metallic gold thread.   The angels look absolutely beautiful on a Christmas table next to a place settings, especially when candles are used because the flickering light reallymake them glow.

These angels are for sale at $8.00 a piece.  If you are
interested in these angelsjust email me

PLANTING SEEDS

This is a doll that I made from the heart.  It is the product of pieces that I made over a period of several months.  The Apron theme came from some of the values I had been trying to bestow upon my teenage children.  It is hard for a child to grow up these days.  They have so many influences out in the real world.  This saying  "ye shall reap in life the seeds ye have sown" is one of the sayings I would tell them when I felt they were hanging around with bullies or had choices of which path to travel when they were out with friends.

The sheep was created when I went to work for Texas Oncology because types of seeds were coming to my mind while my life intertwined with cancer patients, their families and fellow workers.  I would think what kind of seed do I want to leave behind today.  The sheep is made of muslin.  The face, ears, tail and feet are painted on.  The sheep is a make do that can stand alone or be carried by the doll.

The sweater that she wears was a daily work of art for about a month.  I do not know what the fabric actually is because it has been with me for many years.  One day I saw it and decided it would make a great sweater.  The lining is a fabric I bought years ago that lines ties.  The sheep on the sweater are made from batting and have the seed of LOVE on them.  I figured that it was the greatest seed of all.  The hat is an old newspaper boys hat pattern made out of the same fabrics as the sweater.  She has a tan checked dress with a beige eyelet slip underneath.  She is wearing some country shoes and beige thermal socks.  Her face is painted on muslin.  She has brown yarn hair that is needle felted in.  Her body is made of wood, her legs are made from dowel rods and her feet are wood.  She stands 33 inches tall and 14 inches wide.

This doll was standing in the lobby of the radiation oncology for about a year.  She put a smile on many cancer patients.  She is now ready to retire to a good home.  If you are interested in her, she is selling for $85.00.  Just contact me at makingdoundertheeaves@gmail.com

SOUL MAMA AND HER PET SHEEP

This doll was such a joy to make.  She was made from a pattern by Happy Heart Patterns.  She is made of 100% cotton dyed muslin.   Her face has painted on eyes and her nose and mouth are machine sculpted.  Her hair is sown on pitch black yarn that is so soft.  Her legs are shaped to where she can sit nicely on the sheep or can sit on a shelf.  Her pet sheep is 100% cotton muslin also.  She is weighted to stand and balance her friend nicely.  The sheep's nose and feet are painted on.  She has black velvet ears and tail.  She has white button eyes.  There is a leather braid with a red velvet heart that says  I LUV EWE around the sheep's neck.  When the  Soul Mama is on the sheep they stand one foot tall from floor to top of dolls head.  They are 7 inches long from the tip of sheep's nose to her tail and 7 inches wide.  Soul mama could be yours for $45.00.  Just email me at makingdoundertheeaves.@gmail.com
